Another 1.2 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have arrived in Dhaka.
The consignment arrived on an Air India flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 1:15pm, an official confirmed to Dhaka Tribune.
Shahriar Sazzad, assistant director of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), who is stationed at the Dhaka airport, said the vaccine doses came in 100 boxes.
The vaccine doses were then sent to Tejgaon for preservation, upon initial formalities and checking.
Earlier, on January 21, India sent 2 million doses of Covidshield vaccine to Bangladesh as a gift.
The vaccine, originally developed by Oxford University and British-Swedish pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, have been produced at the Serum Institute of India (SII).
