Covid-19: Bangladesh registers 22 deaths, 692 new cases in 24 hours


As many as 22 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours, a press note issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed.

The report further said total number of deaths toll reached 7,756 and the death rate stands at 1.49 percent.

In the meantime, 692 new infections were detected. With this, the total number of people infected reached to 5,21,382.

According to report, the current positivity rate is 5.36 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.59 percent.

An official said 12,908 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

As many as 785 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the period., he said adding the total number of recoveries now stands at 4,66,064 and the recovery rate at 89.39 percent.

Fifteen were men and seven women among total 22 deceased. Two were between 41-50 years old, three within 51-60 and 17 were above 60-year-old.
