Covid-19 report card: 17 die, 978 infected, 1,021 recover in 24 hours

Seventeen people died due to Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, an official of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

He further said that the total number of deaths has now reached 7,687 and the death rate stands at 1.48 percent.

The finding of 978 new infections alerted the authorities taking the total number of people infected to 5,18,898, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 6.29 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.71 percent.

As many as 15,544 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours. The official said 1,021 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

As many as 4,63,480 patients recovered and the recovery rate at 89.32 percent.
