Come November 1, National Zoo will open its gates for the visitors, who can enter the park without shelling out a penny, to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The government has decided to open the zoo for the visitors on the first Sunday of every month.
People can avail the opportunity till March 2021, a zoo official said.
The decision was taken by Fisheries and Livestock Ministry after it got instruction from Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim.
According to Karim, school and college students will get priority under the decision.
The decision was taken after the ministry has asked the concerned department of Livestock Services (DLS) to open the zoo for the visitors from November 1.
Adequate precautionary measures, including the Covid-19 health guidelines, will been taken to pre-empt any trouble.
The National Zoo has remained shut from March 20 this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
