In a sign of respite, Bangladesh has recored 1,094 new cases of Covid-19 infection in a day.
So far it is the lowest daily count since Eid-ul-Azha on August 2. Till that date, 886 people reported pandemic positive.
The latest government data says 5,780 people died after 19 fatalities were registered in the 24 hours to 8 am Saturday.
As many as 1,498 patients were successfully treated.
The authoriries ramped up testing as 10,998 samples were tested at 111 authorised labs across the country in the last 24 hours, a health directorate official said.
He said the recovery rate is 78.88 percent while the mortality rate stands at 1.45 percent.
According to Johns Hopkins University data, so far, 42.23 million people were infected by the pandemic and 1.14 million have died.
People in more than 210 countries and territories were infected by the virus since the disease breakout China in December 2019.
